Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to every cloud hosting service you buy from El Mimar. Ordering the service is acceptance of it.

1. Hetzner's policies bind you too

Our cloud servers run on Hetzner Online GmbH infrastructure. You are bound by their terms of service and acceptable use policy as though they formed part of this document — in particular:

  • No cryptocurrency mining, in any form.
  • No Tor exit nodes or open proxies.
  • No spam or unsolicited bulk mail.
  • No scanning, intrusion or denial-of-service traffic — originating from or passing through your server.

A breach of Hetzner's policy gets our service suspended, and we answer to them for what our customers do. We therefore enforce it to the letter.

2. Content not permitted on our servers

You may not upload, host, transmit or link to:

  • Sexual content of any kind — explicit or suggestive, paid or free.
  • Incitement of every kind — to violence, hatred, discrimination, terrorism or self-harm, against any person, group or state, whether stated or implied.
  • Targeted mockery of religions, sanctities, prophets, persons or groups.
  • Weapons and ammunition — selling them, brokering them, or explaining how they are made.
  • Drugs and addictive substances — promoting, selling or explaining their preparation, including prescription substances offered without a prescription.
  • Party-political campaigning and electoral material, and campaigns directed at persons, bodies or governments.
  • Gambling, fraud, and pyramid schemes.
  • Malware, phishing pages, and intrusion tooling.
  • Anything infringing another party's rights, a person's privacy, or the law of your country or of the server's.

3. Abuse procedure

Complaints reach us at abuse@elmimar.com and are handled as follows:

  1. We notify you in writing of what we received and allow 24 hours to reply or remove.
  2. If you do not reply, or the breach repeats, the service is suspended — your data is retained while it is.
  3. Severe cases — child sexual content, an attack originating from your server, or an order from a competent authority — are suspended immediately, with no grace period.
  4. Termination after suspension schedules data deletion after a stated period, and you are notified before it expires.

No refund arises from a suspension or termination under this policy.

4. Your responsibility for your server

You are responsible for everything that happens on your server: what you did, what your users did, and what anyone who compromised your account did. Keep your system patched and your passwords strong — an unpatched server becomes somebody else's tool.

5. Changes to this policy

We revise it when needed, and every version carries a number and a date. What you agreed to at the moment of your order is what governs that order; a later revision does not change what you committed to.
